Ekiti Queens FC Resumes 2025/2026 NWFL Pre-Season Activities

The Ekiti State female football side, Ekiti Queens Football Club, will officially commence their pre-season programme for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) campaign on Monday, September 9, 2025, in Ado-Ekiti.

In a statement issued to journalists in the state capital, the club’s Media Manager, Comrade Demola Atobaba, disclosed that the early resumption marks the beginning of rigorous preparations for a demanding season in the nation’s top-tier women’s football competition. According to him, the management is determined to ensure that the team enters the new season with renewed strength, clear objectives, and a well-coordinated structure.

The statement emphasized that all technical crew members, the backroom staff, and the entire squad of registered players are expected to report without exception. The club’s leadership has insisted on total commitment from every stakeholder as Ekiti Queens aim to improve on their previous campaign and stake a stronger claim in the NWFL.

Comrade Atobaba further explained that activities will commence at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, by 9:00 am, beginning with a special prayer session. This symbolic start, he noted, is designed to place the entire season in God’s hands, seeking divine protection, strength, and direction for both players and officials. He stressed that the club is conscious of the physical and psychological demands of league football, and therefore considers spiritual dedication as an essential foundation for success.

Beyond prayers, the opening day will also feature a closed-door briefing with the players and staff, where the technical crew will outline the pre-season training schedule, tactical focus, and disciplinary expectations. The management is also expected to unveil new support programmes for player welfare and professional development, underscoring the club’s commitment to building a resilient and competitive squad.

Ekiti Queens FC, widely regarded as one of the most ambitious women’s football outfits in the South-West, have steadily gained recognition for their disciplined approach and community support base. The club’s faithful will be watching closely as the new campaign approaches, with heightened expectations that the Queens can make a deeper impression in the league and possibly challenge for continental qualification.

The 2025/2026 pre-season, therefore, represents more than just routine training—it is a rallying point for ambition, discipline, and unity as Ekiti Queens step forward to write another chapter in their history.
