Ekiti Queens Duo Earn National U-17 Invitation

Two players from Ekiti Queens FC have been called up to Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingoes, following the release of a 36-player provisional squad by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Defender Fayoke Akinola and defensive midfielder Endurance Omoraka were both named in the official list, underlining their impressive performances at club level.

Akinola, who captained the Ekiti Queens Feeders team last season, earned promotion to the senior side at the start of the current season and has since established herself as a dependable figure in defence. Omoraka, on her part, continues to gain recognition for her composure and consistency in midfield.

Their invitation was confirmed in a document signed by Team Secretary Arit Robert on behalf of the federation’s General Secretary.

Ekiti Queens FC Media Officer Tosin Popoola reports that Head Coach Jacob Vandi described the call-up as a significant moment for the club, noting that it reflects the team’s growing impact on grassroots football development.

Meanwhile, the Flamingoes will be led by newly appointed head coach Akeem Ishola Busari, who takes over from former coach Bankole Olowookere.

The Ekiti Queens duo will now look to impress in camp as they battle for final selection ahead of upcoming international competitions.
