Hepzibah FC Clinch Maiden BAO U-12 Title Sponsored by Dr. Olusola Osetoba

Hepzibah FC emerged champions of the maiden BAO U-12 Football Competition after defeating Omitade FC 3-1 on penalties in a tightly contested final played after a goalless draw in regulation time.

The competition, sponsored by Dr. Olusola Osetoba, brought together four teams in a tournament that highlighted the growing depth of grassroots football talent in Ekiti State.

Hepzibah FC reached the final after edging Ajayi FC 3-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in the semifinal, while Omitade FC booked their place in the final with a 2-0 victory over Ekiti United Babes. Ekiti United Babes missed a penalty during the semifinal encounter.

In the third-place match, Ajayi FC defeated Ekiti United Babes 2-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Ekiti United Babes also missed a penalty before full-time in the encounter.

The final produced intense moments from both sides, with strong defensive organization and impressive goalkeeping keeping the scoreline level throughout regulation time. Hepzibah FC eventually held their nerve in the shootout to secure the title.

Individual performances also stood out during the competition. Makanjuola of Ekiti United Babes won the Youngest Goalkeeper award, while Hepzibah FC goalkeeper Akinola Enoch was named Best Goalkeeper after saving four penalties during the final shootout.

Omitade FC forward Taiwo Amsat finished as the tournament’s Highest Goalscorer with two goals, while Timileyin Fadiya was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition.

Beyond the results, the tournament served as a strong platform for youth development, talent discovery, discipline, and competitive exposure for young footballers in Ekiti State.

The successful completion of the maiden BAO U-12 Football Competition further reflects the growing commitment to grassroots sports development in the state through initiatives and support systems championed by stakeholders and sports administrators.
