Ekiti Govt Warns Against Stadium Violence as Ekiti Queens Return Home
The Ekiti State Government has cautioned fans against any form of stadium violence ahead of Ekiti Queens FC’s return to the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, for their NWFL Matchday 15 clash against Pacesetter Queens.
The warning was issued by the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, through her Media Aide on Grassroots Sports, Wale Omoyeni, urging supporters to maintain order and uphold the spirit of the game.
Ekiti Queens are set to play at home for the first time this year after previously hosting matches at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta following a ban imposed in December 2025, according to the club’s media office.
The Jacob Vandi-led side will face southwest rivals Pacesetter Queens of Ibadan in a fixture scheduled for 4pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Ekiti Queens head into the encounter with confidence after securing a 2–0 victory in the reverse fixture in Ibadan, with goals from Ismail Zainab and Winifred Eyebhoria.
While welcoming the team’s return to Ado-Ekiti, the government stressed the need for a peaceful matchday atmosphere, warning that any form of crowd disorder could lead to further sanctions.
The fixture also offers Ekiti Queens the chance to build on their away form this season as they continue their push on the NWFL table.
