DR OSETOBA CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR OYEBANJI ON HISTORIC RE-ELECTION VICTORY

The Technical Advisor on Sports Development to the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Mrs Olusola Osetoba, heartily congratulates His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his resounding victory in the June 20, 2026 governorship election and his re-election for a second term in office.
Dr Osetoba describes the victory on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC, as a clear affirmation of the confidence reposed in Governor Oyebanji by the people of Ekiti State especially the sports sector, noting that his administration’s commitment to good governance, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and sports development has continued to earn the trust and support of the electorate across the state.
She further celebrates the governor’s emergence as the first governorship candidate in the history of Ekiti State to secure the highest number of votes ever recorded in a gubernatorial election polling 319,224, while also becoming only the second governor after Peter Fayose of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, to win all sixteen local government areas of the state, a remarkable feat that underscores his widespread acceptance and outstanding performance in office.
Dr Osetoba prays for greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Governor Oyebanji as he prepares to continue the task of building a more prosperous and united Ekiti State, assuring him of her unwavering support and commitment to the success of his administration in the years ahead.
BAO was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, followed by Dr Wole Oluyede of the PDP who garnered 40,543 votes and Dare Bejide came third with 12,872.
