‎NNL 2025/26: Ekiti United Brace for Conference B Battles

Ekiti United’s road back to prominence has been mapped out after the club discovered its 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) opponents following the body’s annual general meeting on Tuesday in Kaduna.

‎‎The Ado-Ekiti side, returning to the NNL after last season’s detour in the Nationwide League One, has been placed in Conference B. They will lock horns with nine challengers: Akwa United, Solution FC, Abakaliki FC, Rovers FC, Stormers FC, Dakkada FC, First Bank, Sporting Lagos and Osun United.

The team’s season will kicks off on Nov. 15, when Ekiti United welcome Stormers FC in a Southwest derby at the upgraded Oluyemi Kayode Stadium. With a newly laid AstroTurf and the stands ready to buzz, United no longer face the headache of shifting “home” games away from their teeming fans — a burden that crippled their last NNL campaign.‎‎

Backed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration, and with Technical Adviser on Sports Development Dr. Olusola Osetoba driving player welfare, the club has tightened its ranks through open screening sessions aimed at picking only battle-ready legs.‎‎

This season also brings a crucial change to the NNL format: the winner of each of the four conferences will secure automatic promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, with a Super Four (only conference winners) playoff staged only to crown the 36 teams abridged league champion.‎‎

Ekiti United’s Media Officer, Blessing Akinyemi made known that “Ekiti United’s mission is clear — restore pride, excite their base and push beyond the shadows of near-misses, which the team is prepared for.”
