EKITI UNITED’S QUEST FOR NNL PROMOTION TO BEGIN IN NLO IJEBU ODE GROUP A
The road to the Nigeria National League (NNL) begins now for Ekiti United FC as the team kicks off its 2025 Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign in Ijebu-Ode. With a clear mission to secure promotion to the second tier of Nigerian football, Ekiti United are set to battle seven formidable opponents in Group A, beginning Tuesday, April 23. NLO Group I zoned to Ijebu Ode is further splitted into Group A and B which Ekiti United is in Group A.
Their campaign opens against Adanimogo FC at 8AM, a fixture that could set the tone for what is expected to be a fiercely competitive group. From there, all roads lead to a blockbuster clash on April 26 at 2PM against Emalex FC—the side that shattered Olukismet FC and Choice FC’s (both from Ekiti) promotion dreams last year.
They return to action on April 29 against Wonder Xchange FC at 8AM, followed by a May 2 showdown which is an Ekiti Derby against OluKismet FC at 4PM.
May continues with a May 5 fixture against Able God FC at 8AM, before facing off against fellow Ekiti-based team Choice FC—one of the most technically sound sides in grassroots football—on May 8 at 4PM. The group stage wraps up with a crucial tie against Reignz FC on May 11 at 8AM, where a playoff ticket could be at stake.
