EKITI ATHLETES MAKE STATEMENT AT SOUTHWEST GAMES WITH MEDALS
Team Ekiti has announced its presence at the Southwest Games in Lagos with an impressive medal haul, securing one gold and multiple bronze medals across athletics, boxing, and table tennis.
Esan Tosin delivered a stunning performance in the boys’ 200m final, clinching gold with a time of 21.9 seconds, marking a major highlight for the team. The athletics squad also brought home three bronze medals, with the girls’ 4x100m relay team of Saliu Favour, Adebowale Adetomi, Oyinloye Oyindamola, and Oyebamiji Aura Kamilat battling to the podium. The boys’ 4x100m team of Ojumu Ayomide, Adebayo Ayomikun, Ochre Sunday, and Oguntumibi Oluwasina followed suit, while the mixed 4x400m relay team of Ojumu Ayomide, Adeniji Deborah, Esan Tosin, and Aregbesola Ayomide also secured a bronze finish.
In the boxing events, Olakanmi Precious (48kg) and Oyekajo Rokeeb (50kg) fought their way to two bronze medals, reinforcing Ekiti’s growing reputation in combat sports. Table tennis players added to the success story with five bronze medals across the girls’ singles, mixed doubles, and girls’ doubles events.

The Chairmen of the Athletics, Boxing, and Table Tennis Associations, including Senator Yemi Adaramodu (Athletics) and Hon.
