Will Ekiti’s basketballers defy the odds and make a statement on the regional stage? As the Southwest Games tip off tomorrow, their dreams just got a major boost. Hon. Oluwafemi Bamisile, Chairman of the Ekiti State Basketball Association, has stepped in with a ₦500,000 donation to support the team’s participation in the Lagos tournament..

His contribution was further bolstered by the Association’s member Segun David, who donated an additional ₦100,000. The tournament, scheduled for March 25–29, 2025, offers a vital platform for Ekiti’s emerging basketball talents to prove their worth on a competitive stage.

Femi Lawrence, Secretary of the association, expressed appreciation on behalf of the team, emphasizing how the financial backing would boost morale and encourage the players to represent Ekiti with pride.
“This is more than just financial assistance; it’s a statement of belief. With the right backing, these players can elevate their game and put Ekiti on the basketball map,” Femi Said.
