DR. AJILA BACKS EKITI QUEENS FC, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR TEAM GROWTH
Dr. Tokunbo Ajila Jakande, Patroness of Ekiti Queens FC and Chairman of the Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund, has extended her full support to the club, reaffirming her commitment to their success both on and off the pitch.
Hosting the players and management of Ekiti Queens FC, Dr. Ajila emphasized her contributions are to uplift sports in Ekiti State in line with Governor Oyebanji’s Sport Development Vision. She promised to give five hundred thousand naira to the team and pledged to supply new jerseys and boots, ensuring that the players are well-equipped to compete at the highest level.
Beyond material support, she advised the players to prioritize education, skills, and trade to secure their future beyond football, echoing the state government’s stance on holistic athlete development. She also guided them on handling interactions with opposite gender in both professional and personal spheres, promoting discipline and self-respect. She also give kudos to Dr Osetoba for her dedication sport development.
Team Captain Seun Fakunle acknowledged Dr. Ajila’s rare commitment, stating that many wealthy individuals overlook grassroots sports, but she has chosen to actively support Governor Oyebanji’s mission of transforming Ekiti sports.
Mrs. Okunola expressed deep appreciation for Dr. Ajila’s support, acknowledging her generosity and commitment to the team. She also emphasized that the team has taken note of Dr. Osetoba’s unwavering love and backing, and in response, they are fully determined to make her proud by securing a spot in the NWFL Super 6.
Midfielder Rasheedat Salau commended Dr. Ajila’s hospitality and advice, urging teammates to embrace the wisdom of planning beyond their playing careers.
Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Dr. Osetoba, thanked Dr. Ajila for aligning her efforts with the state’s broader sports vision, stressing that her support will strengthen Ekiti Queens FC’s push for success.
As Ekiti Queens FC continues its chase for a Super 6 spot, head coach Jacob Vandy remains optimistic, believing that the team is capable of qualifying and competing at continental level. Player Omobola also lauded Governor Oyebanji’s administration for its continued investment in women’s football, ensuring the team has everything it needs to succeed.
