OYEBODE INSPECTS OLUYEMI KAYODE STADIUM, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR ONGOING RENOVATIONS
Ekiti State Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sports infrastructure development while inspecting ongoing renovations at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium.
During his visit, Oyebode assessed multiple key areas of the facility, including the pitch, the proposed site for a new administrative building, and the stadium’s medical center by Red Cross. While urging contractors to expedite work on the pitch—where Ekiti Queens FC are set to host Remo Stars Ladies—he also emphasized the broader goal of modernizing the entire complex.
At the Red Cross medical center, he pledged to donate an air conditioner to enhance medical services. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of income generation through the planned construction of lockup shops, which will provide financial sustainability for the stadium.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji has previously credited Oyebode as a major force behind the state’s commitment to sports development.
Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor on Sports Development, thanked him for the visit and the continuous support.
With each renovation and structural upgrade, the stadium inches closer to a new era. But when the final touches are made and the gates open to fans once again—how breathtaking will the transformation be?
