Dr Osetoba, Sport Development Office Secure Police Partnership for Sports Development
The Ekiti State Sport Development Office led by Dr Osetoba has gained the backing of the police command in its drive to enhance sports development, as Commissioner of Police Joseph Aribo pledged collaboration with the state Sport Development Office.
The commitment was made on Tuesday when Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical advisor on Sports Development, visited Aribo at the police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti to discuss strengthening security for sports activities across the state.
Dr Osetoba emphasized Governor Oyebanji’s vision to position sports as a tool for youth engagement, talent discovery, and community development. She noted that security remains a crucial factor in achieving this goal and welcomed the police force’s willingness to play a supportive role.
Aribo, in response, assured Osetoba of the police command’s full cooperation. He highlighted his personal interest in sports and announced plans to organize a police sports competition in alignment with the governor’s broader vision for sport development in the state.
“The police are ready to provide adequate security for all sporting events in Ekiti to ensure a safe and conducive environment for athletes and spectators,” Aribo said.
Dr Osetoba commended the commissioner’s commitment, stating that the collaboration would greatly enhance the sustainability of sports initiatives in the state.
The meeting marks a major step in advancing Governor Oyebanji’s sports agenda, with the Ekiti Police Command set to play an active role in ensuring both security and participation in athletic programs.
