ULTIMATE PREMIER LEAGUE: FIRST WEEK ROUNDUP
The Ultimate Premier League kicked off on Friday with an exciting match between ABUAD FC and defending champions, Gateway FA. However, the debutants, ABUAD FC, suffered a 1-0 loss at home, courtesy of a lone strike from Ibirinde Segun. Segun’s 28th-minute goal marked the first score of the season.
However, the league’s momentum was temporarily halted as matches scheduled for Saturday and Sunday were postponed. The State Football Association issued a directive, mandating teams to formalize their affiliation with the state FA. In response, the league body negotiated a 10-working-day grace period for all teams to comply.
The league resumes today, Monday, with an intriguing matchup between Wonderxchange FC and Crankshaft FC at the Olukismet Stadium, scheduled for 4 pm.
Postponed matches from the previous weekend will be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced soon. Fans and supporters are eagerly awaiting the revised fixtures and the continuation of the Ultimate Premier League.
