EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT PARTNERS WITH NAPPS ON OMOLUABI SPORT FESTIVAL
Ekiti State is poised to take sports development to new heights, thanks to the vision of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the passion of Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development.
The Southwest zone of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) recently visited Dr. Osetoba to discuss a partnership on the Omoluabi Sport Festival. The festival aims to foster unity and promote the Omoluabi spirit across Southwest Nigeria, while also honoring the six state governors in the region.
Dr. Osetoba, known for her tireless commitment to sports development, promised that the state government will provide the necessary technical support to ensure the best athletes are selected to represent the state. She also shared her expertise on managing age cheats and preventing machinery usage in the U16 secondary school competition.
The Ekiti State government plans to adopt the state’s contingent as its representatives after the state qualifiers, which are set to conclude by January 20, 2025. The games will feature football, athletics, and chess, with state contingents housed at the Liberty Stadium and the grand finale taking place at the Adamasingba Stadium.
Governor Oyebanji’s administration has made sports development a priority, with a focus on nurturing young talents and creating opportunities for wealth creation and global recognition ¹. Dr. Osetoba’s passion and dedication to sports development have been instrumental in driving this vision forward.
