SHEROES AWARDS 2024: Ekiti First Lady Honored with Prestigious Trailblazer Award
The First Lady of Ekiti State, Her Excellency Associate Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, was awarded the Trailblazer of the Year at the 2024 Sheroes Awards, recognizing her visionary leadership and advocacy for women’s empowerment across the African continent.
Professor Oyebanji was lauded for her instrumental role in promoting the Ekiti Queens Football Club and her commitment to advancing the cause of the girl child through sports and educational development.
The award presentation took place at the British Nigerian Academy in Abuja, where Chief Paul Edeh, Esq., the president and founder of the Ratels Sports Development Foundation, praised the First Lady as a dedicated supporter of sports development. He emphasized her outstanding contributions to the field, highlighting her impact on empowering women in sports.
Additionally, two players from Ekiti Queens received the “Women of the Match Award,” further showcasing the club’s dedication to promoting women’s participation in sports.
