EKITI SPIKERS GEAR UP FOR NATIONAL DIVISION ONE VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE IN UMUAHIA

Ekiti Spikers, the state’s volleyball team, has arrived in Umuahia for the second phase of the National Division One league, determined to make Ekiti State proud.

The team, fresh from a strong performance in the first phase held in Abuja in May, is set to face stiff competition from Wikki Spikers (Bauchi State), Abia Angels (Abia State), and Delta Queens (Delta State).

Coach Soji Farotimi, still basking in the glory of his silver medal win at the National Youth Games, expressed cautious optimism: “We’re taking it one match at a time, trusting in God for another successful outing.”

Team captain Ologun Mary, aka Sabina, attributed the team’s motivation to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s commitment to sports development: “We’re fired up to succeed, knowing the governor’s interest in sports. We’ll give our all to make Ekiti State proud.”

The 10-day competition will see two teams promoted to the Premier League.

With their sights set on promotion, Ekiti Spikers are ready to battle for glory in Umuahia.
