NOC Women’s Commission Honors Governor Oyebanji’s Commitment To Sports, Commends Dr Osetoba’s Support
Governor Biodun Oyebanji has been honored by the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) Women’s Commission for his commitment to advancing sports in Ekiti State, particularly in the development of women athletes. Dr. Olusola Osetoba, his Technical Advisor on Sport Development, was also commended for her support in ensuring the success of the event.
The award was received on behalf of the governor by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habitat Adubiaro, who appreciated the recognition and emphasized that Ekiti remains one of the states giving the most opportunities to women. She highlighted the inclusion of women in political leadership and the governor’s attention to female sports teams as clear evidence of his gender-sensitive governance.
Osetoba was also decorated for her contributions, with organizers praising her tireless efforts in mobilizing resources and guiding participants. In her remarks, she urged women athletes to adopt best practices to maintain good posture and commended the NOC Women’s Commission for hosting what she described as an enlightening and impactful program.
Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, Director General of Ekiti State Tourism, was among the guests. He noted that sports have become one of the strongest drivers of tourism promotion and cultural visibility in the state.
Mrs. Kemi Obidahunsi, Secretary of the NOC Women’s Commission, applauded Governor Oyebanji for his unwavering support, stressing that it enabled the Commission to successfully host the seminar in Ekiti. She also lauded Osetoba’s passion, remarking that her commitment to the event was remarkable despite their recent acquaintance.
Certificates of participation were presented to all attendees.

With the seminar’s blend of recognition, training, and knowledge sharing, stakeholders expressed confidence that the seminar will yield lasting results by strengthening women’s participation in sports and enhancing women’s role in Sport development.
