Dr Ajila Donates Kits To Ekiti Queens FC, Reaffirms Support For The Women’s Football Team
Dr. Tokunbo Ajila, Chairperson of the Ekiti State Sports Trust Fund and patroness of Ekiti Queens FC, has donated new sets of jerseys, hose, and boots to the state-owned women’s football club as part of her ongoing support for the team’s development and morale.
The presentation, made ahead of the new football season, reflects Dr. Ajila’s longstanding commitment to advancing women’s football and strengthening grassroots sports in Ekiti State.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ajila said her gesture was aimed at motivating the players to excel and make Ekiti State proud on the national stage. She reaffirmed her belief that supporting female athletes extends beyond the pitch, emphasizing the need for mentorship and personal growth opportunities for the players.
Dr. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Adviser on Sports Development to the Ekiti State Governor, commended the donation, describing it as a timely boost for the team. She noted that such gestures contribute to building players’ confidence and welfare, essential elements for sustained performance.
Dr. Ajila had previously hosted the team last season, during which she expressed deep interest in their welfare and professional advancement. Her latest contribution, observers say, reinforces her reputation as a key figure in the state’s ongoing effort to empower women through sports.
The Ekiti Queens are expected to begin their campaign in the new season with renewed confidence, inspired by the show of support from one of their strongest advocates.
