Ekiti United Unveils 28-Man Squad, Eyes Strong NNL Campaign
ADO-EKITI, Nigeria (SPORTIVE) — Ekiti United FC has officially unveiled a 28-man squad ahead of the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season, signaling the team’s firm ambition to secure promotion to the top-flight Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The government-owned club, led by the Ekiti State Sports Development Office under Dr. Olusola Osetoba, expressed full confidence in the team’s readiness to make a strong statement this season.
“We believe in the team’s ability to succeed, and we commend the coaching crew for their diligence and transparency in selecting the players,” said Dr. Osetoba, Technical Adviser to the Ekiti State Government on Sports Development.
According to the club’s Media Officer, Blessing Akinyemi in a Press Release, the unveiled squad features a blend of experienced and youthful talents across all departments:
Goalkeepers: Ikenne Kelvin, Makanjuola Adewale
Defenders: Akinyemi Seyi, Usman Ajibola, Aminu Abubakar, Tochukwu Okoye, ThankGod Amos, Kolade Taiwo, Tijani Azeez, Adeniyi Mustapha
Midfielders: Quadri Raheem, Obisesan Saheed, Abidogun Ayomide, Igbekele Ebenezer, Aladejana Dotun, Abiodun Omolaoye, Lawal Rasheed, Isa Abdulmajeed, Amidu Taiwo, Bello Adebanjo
Attackers: Adeyeye Damilola, Eyitayo Rasheed, Kayode Yusuf, Edwin Onazi, Elegbeleye Olaoluwa, James Olaide, Akeem Amuda
The unveiling event drew dignitaries, including Hon. Kola Owoseni and Hon. Tunde Adesanya, Special Advisers on Sports Development, alongside representatives of the Ekiti State Players Union, sports journalists, and other stakeholders.
Ekiti United will begin their campaign against familiar foes Stormers Sport Club in what promises to be a thrilling season opener.
