A Day of Love, Legacy, and Laud: Ekiti Sports Family Celebrates Dr. Olusola Osetoba
When a sports administrator’s birthday draws a crowd of athletes, associations, institutions, journalists, administrators, supporters, Educationists and even local government—it’s not just a celebration; it’s a statement.
Yesterday, the Ekiti sports family rose as one to honour Dr. Olusola Osetoba, the Technical Advisor on Sports Development to the Governor, as she marked her birthday in grand, heartfelt fashion. From the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN Ekiti), Football Supporters Club, Ekiti United, Ekiti Queens, their feeder teams, National Association Proprietors Private Schools (NAPPS Ekiti), Red Cross, and Emure Local Government, to athletes, journalists, friends, family, and associates—the outpour of love was as sweeping as her impact.
It wasn’t about age or fanfare. It was a collective salute to a woman whose work speaks in every renovated stadium wall, every resuscitated grassroots competition, and every athlete who now trains with new hope. Representing the unwavering vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Dr. Osetoba has not only embodied his trust but expanded it—into action, into policies, and into tangible sport transformation.
The birthday wasn’t hosted in a ballroom, but in the heart of those she has uplifted with her energy and selflessness.
In her words of gratitude shared after the celebration:
“Dear Sports Family, I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made my birthday unforgettable. Your kind wishes, thoughtful gifts, visits, prayers, and blessings overwhelmed me with joy. I’m thankful to be part of this incredible Sports Family and appreciate your love and support. Your presence in my life means everything. Special thanks to my Boss, Leader, and Mentor, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi OYEBANJI, for his guidance, support, and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this amazing team. I’m honored and grateful. May God continue to bless and protect him. Thank you all again for making me feel loved and appreciated. May joy and celebrations always fill your lives.”
Indeed, Ekiti celebrated more than a birthday yesterday—it celebrated loyalty, leadership, and the living legacy of a woman whose passion for sport development continues to stir hope across the state.
