Dr. Mrs. Osetoba Honored as Tourism Ambassador for Promoting Sport in Ekiti

[Ado-Ekiti, 30/11/2024] — Dr. Mrs. Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor to the Ekiti State Governor, was honored with the prestigious title of ambassador of tourism during a recent event, where she was recognized for her efforts in promoting Ekiti as a prime tourist destination through sports.

Ambassador Wale Lanre, the Director General of the Bureau of Tourism, presented the award, stating that Osetoba’s contributions have significantly projected Ekiti to the world. “This award is well-deserved,” Lanre said, underscoring the importance of sports as a crucial element of tourism.

In her acceptance speech, Dr. Osetoba expressed her gratitude to the event organizers for the recognition and pledged to continue enhancing Ekiti’s pride through sports initiatives. She dedicated the award to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi, and thanked the sports community in Ekiti for their unwavering support, promising to strive for even greater achievements.

As a judge in the event’s cooking competition, Dr. Osetoba commended the chefs for their choice of Igbemo rice due to its health benefits, as well as the selection of sweet prayer plant, emphasizing its nutritional advantages over more conventional takeaway options. She concluded the event by presenting medals to the top three chefs, celebrating their culinary talents and contributions to the promotion of local cuisine.
