Osasunah Spikers wins Bethel’s Annual Volleyball tournament

Osasunah Spikers Volleyball team on Saturday won the second edition of Bethel’s Annual Tournament Volleyball(BAT) with a cash prize of N50,000, medals and certificates award.

The tournament was held at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the tournament was four players on a side including a female with one substitute and 17 teams from various states participated.

The winning team defeated Eskimol Bombers 3-1 in four sets played in the final of the competition.

In the first set, Eskimol defeated Osasunah, 21-25, Osasunah changed their technical set up and came out stronger in the second, third and fourth sets to defeat Eskimo, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-14 to win the tournament.

Eskimol Bombers team won the second position cash prize of a sum of N30,000 with medals and certificate award.

While Team Monster won the third position of the tournament with a cash prize of N20,000, medals and certificate award.

In the categories of individual awards of the tournament, the most valuable male player was won by Iyanu Oyedele of Osasunah Spikers team while the most valuable female player goes to Bukunmi Asaba of Eskimol Bombers team

Babatunde Ganiyu of Eskimol Bombers won the best striker while Abdulrazak Mubarak of Team Warriors won the best saver of the competition respectively.

Reacting, the coach of Osasunah Spikers team, Ifeoluwa Osasona, commended his team for their resilience and determination to win tournament.

Osasona commended the sponsor and organiser of the tournament for promoting volleyball and engaging youths to participate actively.

The Sponsor of the tournament, Olarewaju Ogundele, aka Bethel, thanked God for the success of the tournament.

He said the objective of the competition was to promote volleyball competitions in Ekiti and encourage more youths participation in the sports.

Ogundele congratulated Osasuna team for winning the second edition of the competition.

He advised the winning team not to relent on their success in the tournament but continue to train harder for higher competitions.

Ogundele assured the participating teams that the third edition of the tournament would be special and unique in 2025 as he plans to start preparations immediately.
