Ekiti United FC Announces Departure of Chief Coach Akin Olowokere

In a significant development for Ekiti United Football Club, Chief Coach Akin Olowokere has parted ways with the team by mutual agreement, as confirmed by the club’s management during a meeting today. This decision comes as Olowokere cites personal reasons for his departure, marking the end of his tenure with the club.

Blessing Akinyemi, Media Officer for Ekiti United FC, conveyed the management’s sentiments regarding this change. “We appreciate the contributions Coach Olowokere made during his time with us and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” Akinyemi stated.

In a strategic move, the club has promoted Assistant Coach Rotimi Salawu to the position of head coach. Salawu’s experience and familiarity with the team are expected to provide continuity and stability as the club prepares for upcoming challenges.

The management, led by Osetoba, the technical advisor to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Sports Development, expressed confidence in Salawu’s ability to lead the team. “We believe Coach Salawu is well-equipped to guide Ekiti United into the next chapter of its journey,” Akinyemi added.

As the club transitions into this new phase, both outgoing and incoming coaches have been wished success in their respective paths, reinforcing the club’s commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for its players and staff. The management looks forward to the future under Coach Salawu’s leadership and aims to build on the foundation laid by Olowokere.
