Technical Adviser to Governor on Sport highlight Oyebanji’s Sport Scorecard
The Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Dr (Mrs) Olusola Osetoba was the GUEST at the SWAN RoundTable on Saturday, 19th October, 2024.
The RoundTable was specially arranged to mark the Second Anniversary of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and sixth month of Dr Mrs Osetoba in office.
Here are Highlights of Mr Governor’s Scorecard;
** Upgrading of the State Sports Council to Commission.
** Employment and Empowerment of talented Youths including Judo Coach and Seven Performers.
** Payment of stipends to State Athletes
** Inauguration of New Chairmen for Sports Associations
** Restructuring of the two state-owned Football Clubs and employment of new Technical Crew for both clubs.
** Hostel Accommodation provided for Ekiti Queens
** Funding and Participation of various Sports in National and International Competitions.
** Adequate funding for state Athletes to take part in Zonal Elimination and National Youth Games
** Handball, Volleyball, Hockey, Basketball and others have all had impressive performances in National competitions due to support and input by BAO administration.
** Support given to SWAN to attend National Elections in Rivers State and also Referees Council to attend Endurance Test in Abuja.
** Purchase of Track Suit and other equipment including Basketball Upright.
** Some Ekiti Coaches got National Appointments and Recognition
** Construction of 900-seat Indoor Sports Hall has commenced
** Support being given to State Cricketers to attend National U19 Championship in Abuja
** Gymnastics Training Centre to be renovated soon
Other Notable Information
** Office Accommodation for SWAN is to be provided in the New Indoor Sports Hall
** The two state football clubs are to be administered directly from the Governor’s office
** Ekiti United is to play in the NLO
(Govt has decided not to buy NNL slot for the club)
The Feeders Team also plays in NLO.
