Organizers Of Late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye Cup recieve Ekiti FAs assurances, as 5th edition beckons

Organizers of the Late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye Under 13 Soccer championship have begun moves towards staging the 5th edition with a visit to the Ekiti State Football Association chairman , The chairman, Aare Olu Oloworemo in his office.

The organizers led by the Ajakaiye Family representative, Coach Femi Popoola met the FA chairman to inform him about preparations towards the tournament and to seek his support.

The Technical Director for the competition, Coach Kehinde Anjorin told the Number 1 Football Administrator in Ekiti State that his support would go a long way at achieving the desired success.

Coach Anjorin informed the FA boss about the preparedness to ensure the commencement of the Late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye Under 13 Soccer championship at the end of August 2024 while at least 20 football clubs including one from  Ghana will participate in it.

In addition, the Ajakaiye Family representative, coach Femi Popoola thanked the Olu Oloworemo led FA for ensuring that the giant trophy meant for the Late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye Cup was kept intact and returned without blemish since it was handed over to the immediate past FA chairman , Mr Bayo Lanlege during his administration.

Popoola popularly known as Coach Facoms assured that the Under 13 tournament will be the envy of other youth tournaments based on the way it will be organized this year.

He said the family of the late monarch has been the backbone towards the sustenance of the tournament through which several budding talents had been discovered and nurtured to stardom.

While handing over the prestigious giant trophy for the tournament to the organizers, the Ekiti State Football Association Chairman, Aare Olu Oloworemo commended the organizers for its steadfastness and commitment towards sustaining the youth competition.

Aare Oloworemo said the late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye was like a father and a respected royal father during his reign as Oluyin of Iyin Ekiti who offered fatherly advice and support over the years, hence he will accord all necessary support to the tournament named after the late royal father.

The FA boss also advised the organizers to explore strategies to improve the standards of the tournament to make rank among the best in the country and also thanked the Irepodun Ifelodun Local Football Council for the synergy with the organizers.

The Secretary of Irepodun Ifelodun Local Football Council, Mrs Ajala Oluwakemi  and a member, MrAlabi as well as the Media Coordinator for the tournament who also doubles as the Ekiti State SWAN Chairman, Qozeem Oladapo were on the entourage of the organizing committee that visited the office of the Ekiti State Football Association on Monday.

The organizers are expected to visit other prominent Sports stakeholders including, the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba on Tuesday and also visit the Sports loving Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Hon Akin Oyebode, chairman of SSG in Ekiti State, Prince Adewole Ajakaiye as well as the Commissioner for Works, Hon Adebayo Adeniyi who happens to be one of the sons of the late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye and a key pillar of the family supporting the tournament.

Also to be visited during the trophy tour are ,HRM Oba Adeola Ajakaiye (oluyin of Iyin Ekiti)

Hon Deji Adesokan (SSA on traffic) and Prince Victor Olaitan Adewusi (VOA) who donated handsomely towards supporting the previous tournament.

Recall that the trophy which was imported from the United Kingdom was donated for the first edition by one of the children of the monarch, Princess  Jackie Adeola Okarevu Ajakaiye.

Ahead of the 5th edition which hopefully kicks off on August 30, the organizers are counting on the family for more support .

The draws for the 5th Late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye Under 13 Soccer championship will be held on August 25.
